Artist Series presents Simone Porter, violin

Presented by Artist Series of Tallahassee at Opperman Music Hall - Florida State University

The Artist Series 2016-17 Concert Season continues Sunday, March 5, 2017 at 4 p.m. in Opperman Music Hall with a performance by rising star Simone Porter, violin and Guzelimian, piano.

Violinist Simone Porter has been recognized as an emerging artist of impassioned energy, musical integrity, and vibrant sound. Her performances have been described as "bold" (The Seattle Times), and "virtuosic" (The Times, London).

At 19 years of age, she has already appeared with the New York Philharmonic and the Philadelphia Orchestra. Ms. Porter’s 2016 season marks her Walt Disney Concert Hall debut with Gustavo Dudamel and the Los Angeles Philharmonic,  followed by debuts with the Baltimore, Berkeley, Des Moines and Detroit symphonies, the Rochester Philharmonic, and the Florida Orchestra.

Pianist, Armen Guzelimian’s distinguished career enjoys national and international acclaim for his versatility as a top-ranking collaborative artist, a first-rate virtuoso soloist in his own right, and a sought-after master vocal coach. Other chamber music partners include the Rossetti String Quartet, Angeles Quartet, the Spokane Quartet. Guzelimian has performed in many of the major music capitals of the world- London, Paris, Vienna, Brussels, and most of the major concert halls in the U.S.
