Daniel McCord Taylor — originally from Newton, Illinois — is a painter, jewelry maker and yard artist best known for his abstract oil paintings featuring bold, striking color palettes. Dan's paintings have become highly sought-after following four "People's Choice Award" wins at Big Bend Cares' annual "Artopia" charity art auction (2011, 2013, 2014 and 2015). In 2012, his painting "Inception" was featured on Gamblin Artists Colors Co.'s online gallery as part of their "Torrit Grey Painting Competition". His work has been featured at the LeMoyne Center for the Visual Art's "50th Anniversary Holiday Show" (December 2013) as well as their "Emerging Artists" exhibition (January 2014), the Council on Culture and Arts' juried art exhibition "Creative Tallahassee" at City Hall (April 2014 and April 2015), in the Art Cove in Tallahassee's Hotel Duval (Summer 2014), the Oglesby Gallery at Florida State University (September 2014) and 621 Gallery's "20th Annual Art Auction" (October 2014). Dan’s showing was at the Tampa Museum of Art's "FIVE by FIVE 2014" exhibition featured his painting “Orange Crush” which sold just 22 minutes into the three-hour show. His work "Nebula Grid" was accepted in the Gadsden Arts Center's "26th Art in Gadsden:  Regional Exhibition of Fine Art". Juried shows in 2016 include PINNACLE and Chromotherapy at FAMU, and both COCA's Tall Art and Music as Muse shows. 2017 juried shows include Lemoyne's Members Show, FSU Artists' League Summer Annual and COLOR at FSU's Phyllis Straus Gallery.
