Saundra Gerrell Kelley
Oral Tradition Storyteller, Poet and Author
Born in Tallahassee, Saundra Kelley moved to the mountains of East Tennessee for graduate school. She earned an M.A. in storytelling from East Tennessee State University, and then decided to stay awhile. Recently returned to Florida, Kelley is a professional storyteller and author. Her work combines the subtle art of observation with the revered tradition of spoken word.
As a storyteller, keynote speaker or workshop facilitator Saundra’s story bag contains original works with a Southern Gothic flair, Personal Narrative, and Folklore with a liberal dose of native Florida Cracker swamp magic. Reverence and appreciation for Mother Earth are the core of every story she tells or writes.
A member of the Tallahassee Writers Association, the National Storytelling Network, honorary performing member and immediate past president of the Jonesborough Storytellers Guild, Kelley performs her short stories in the oral tradition and reads her poetry for the beauty and rhythm of the art.
The author of three books and numerous short stories, poems and articles, Kelley also works as a freelance content editor.
