The Purple House presents another sizzling summer show. Texas phenomenon, Robyn Ludwick, rolls into town for her Tallahassee debut. Friday, June 23 Doors at 7:30. Music at 8:00.
No Depression named Robyn one of the Best 10 Female Musicians of 2011!
Hailed as the “Queen of Modern Texas Country Soul,” Robyn Ludwick’s newest album fills those shoes. In 2011, Robyn released Out of These Blues, a pivotal/breakout Americana album produced by Gurf Morlix (featuring Gurf, Ian McLagan, Gene Elders) that garnered numerous Top 10 Album accolades from No Depression Magazine, Ray Benson’s Texas Music Scene, Texas Music Magazine, KGSR and Austin City Limits (Top 10 staff picks) to name a few.
Robyn’s songs are now being recorded by great artists and great songwriters. Cuts include two on Charlie Robison’s most recent album, one on Kelly Wi…llis/Bruce Robison’s most recent duet album and an upcoming song called “Bars Ain’t Closin” performed as a duet by Holly Williams (Granddaughter of Hank) and Wade Bowen scheduled to be released as a single in April 2016. As a force of her own in a Texas Music First Family, Lone Star Music Magazine named Robyn “The most formidable writer of the Robisons”.
Robyn recently starred in an Indie Film alongside Hal Ketchum and Jack Ingram called Lost. Vegas. Hiway. – filmed on location in Las Vegas and scheduled to be released next year. This movie trailer gives a sneak peek https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uavCWt35sN8
