On Saturday, August 19, The Pyramid Players will bring their 16th annual summer performance, Game of Fortune, to The Moon’s stage. The setting of this year’s performance is the funeral of the multi-millionaire game tycoon, Bartholomew Bradley, who has left only an odd assortment of objects, a will that reads like a scavenger hunt and a deadline. Will the heirs be able to figure it all out and mend their wicked ways? Co-written by Pyramid Studios’ play writing class, this sinfully delightful musical not only features the top notch performances Tallahassee theatre-goers love, but also a magnificent collection of awesome characters who will steal your heart and have you rolling in the aisles!
The Players’ annual performance is the crown jewel of Pyramid’s unique visual and performing arts program. The Tallahassee arts community anticipates this event so much that it has become an annual tradition to attend just to see what The Players have in store for them, with more than 1000 flocking to the Moon each year! The performers are adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and on stage, their abilities shine through.
The doors open at 5 p.m. EST with a Pyramid-wide Art Show & Sale, a Silent Auction and a spread of hors d’oeuvres only our volunteers could pull off. Pyramid Studios’ premier rock band The Electric People will provide pre-show entertainment at 6:15. Curtain is at 7 p.m.
