Explore watercolor and drawing techniques used by botanical artists of the nineteenth century.
Beginner and experienced, alike, will discover watercolor dry brush, color layering and pencil rendering techniques utilized in creating beautiful flower portraits in the style of the early botanical painters. Students are encouraged to bring to the class their favorite live flowers as subjects. No experience necessary. Instructor Mary Gwyn Bowen is an honors graduate of The Corcoran College of Art and Design in Washington, D.C. and the recipient of several awards.
