Based on a graphic novel of the same name, the film encapsulates the rigor of a ballet dancer’s life. As a young woman dancing in Moscow, Polina faces a strict regimen of ballet lessons. When she falls in love with a French dancer and moves to France, her perception of dance and herself changes.
