Interpreting Cultural Connections between Cervantes and Shakespeare

Theater with a Mission, through a grant from the Florida Humanities Council, will bring three world renown scholars to set the context to a match between Miguel de Cervantes and William Shakespeare.

Step into the world of Shakespeare and Cervantes at Mission San Luis on October 1 & 2, between the hours of 11 AM and 4 PM.

In addition to the world premiere of Loco for Love at 2 PM each day, come listen and participate in lectures and workshops that explore ideas of courtship and friendship, marriage and madness, nobility and chivalry, gender and power. ADMISSION INFO

Admission to Mission San Luis is Free on Oct 1, during the Blessing of Animals event, when normal admission fees to Mission San Luis get waived, and everyone, including the pets brought in to be blessed, get in for free. Admission to Mission San Luis on Sunday, October 2, is $5 for adults, $3 for seniors, and $2 for youngsters. Talks, demonstrations, and discussions occur every hour on the hour from 11 a.m. till 3 p.m., The world premiere of Loco for Love performs at 2 p.m. on both Oct 1 and Oct 2.

Bring lawn chairs and /or blankets.

  1. L.S. You know that Shakespeare and Cervantes were just figureheads. They did not write the works mentioned under their name, they just sold their name to survive. But is it important to know who wrote those masterpieces? No way! What is important is the meaning of all these efforts made to entertain us. But behind these words is a hidden message.
