Join the FSU College of Motion Picture Arts as we celebrate our 2017 MFA graduates and the premiere of their thesis films. The screening is free to the public (no tickets required) and will be held in Ruby Diamond Concert Hall on FSU’s campus. Parking is available in the parking lots surrounding Ruby Diamond.
There are two screenings on Saturday, August 5–one at 2:45pm and one at 8:00pm. Different films will be playing at each screening. House doors will open 30 minutes prior to each screening.
The first screening will include the following films:
- SIGHT: directed by Janeen Talbott – Naji, a nonbeliever from a parallel earth, must make the ultimate sacrifice to save her tribe when supernatural forces bring a dark truth to light.
- RIGOR MORTIS: Matthew Robinson – David regrets pushing his conjoined twin, Kane, into a failed separation surgery. Kane returns to haunt and torment David, reminding him of their life together.
- DEATH AT DINNER: Bethany Miller – Meeting your future in-laws is never easy. Throw in thespians, old Hollywood icons, a little bit of murder, and you’ve got a party!
- VOID: Sam Bartz – After Daniel and his wife abort their child, Daniel realizes his misjudgement, and his suppressed grief and rage about his unborn child threatens their marriage.
- THE FOX CREEK CARVER: Nathan Westenhaver – Local college students dig into the unsolved murders of the Fox Creek Carver, only to discover he isn’t as dead as they initially thought.
- WEAK OR NO SIGNAL: Molly Roland – Thinking she’s failed life, failed suicide, and is now failing a friendship, Dylan struggles between losing her only friend, and following her out of a coma.
- THE TERRIBLE TRIO: Robert Eaton – After a double-dealing bandito robs a flesh-carving Canuck, bare-knuckle Mandingo, and gunsmokin’ Femme Fatale, they form an unlikely union to claim back what’s theirs.
- THE STRANGER: Katherine Oostman – Blake left home years ago, pain in her wake. Now, she’s returning home to make amends. Instead, Blake finds a stranger pretending to be her sister.
