Our program currently places our participants in different worksites which allows them to gain skills to assist them in becoming more marketable when trying to find permanent employment. These benefits are no cost to the employer, we just ask that you aid them in developing the skills that they can develop in your company. Listed below is some brief information on our program, if you would like any more information, please do not hesitate to contact me. I would like to thank you in advance for taking the time out to review our work experience programs.

Mission: To provide a quality work experience activity throughout the year which allows participants to acquire the skills and knowledge needed to obtain and maintain employment. Acquisition of such skills and knowledge will lead to a successful transaction into the labor market and enhance future economic independence and self-sufficiency.

Participants: (16-24) out of school

This program is a paid program in which our participants can work up to 240 hours, no more than 40 hours per week which is paid by CareerSource Capital Region at minimum wage. While the participants are working at their work sites, they are treated as employees, but will be considered State of Florida employees. In order for the participants to be a part of the program, we conduct background screening (18-24) and drug test for all the participants and also give them Prove It Assessments before being placed on a work site.  All participants will participate in a 10 day orientation with one of our career specialist ( The training includes personal presentation, resume writing, labor market information, interview skills, HR basics and many more topics that build them up to so that they can be successful. The combined element is career development. Each student takes assessments and they work with their Career Specialist to find a career path in a field that is in demand.) They will also take the TABE (test for adult and basic education) test to assess their level of skills and job readiness.

The only requirement that we ask of the employer is to teach them the skills that will be available at their work site and complete a bi-weekly time sheet in order for me to pay our participants. Also all work sites supervisors will get the opportunity to evaluate their participants so that we can maintain a good relationship and guide the participants in becoming good employees.
